Academic Core Course

The school offers all core courses of American high school, including English literature, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, second foreign languages, arts, sports, etc., 17 AP (American University Prerequisite Credit) courses and many elective courses. The multi-level and multi-disciplinary curriculum provides a comprehensive guarantee for students' personalized development and subject development. While meeting the requirements for graduation from high schools in the United States, students are also fully prepared for the study of world-renowned universities.

R&D Courses

R&D(Research and Development)The course aims to enhance the disciplinary inquiry ability and innovation ability of Chinese students whose performance is generally weak, and comprehensively build the international competitiveness of Chinese students in various professional fields. Under the guidance of the teacher, Menaul Students will carry out the expansion and extension of multiple disciplines, and allow students to choose topics according to their own interests, conduct 1-2 years of research study, formulate research plans, and conduct field research work with experiments, write research papers and report on topics to form academic research results.

The R & D research course is completed in two stages:
  • "Milestone" is the initial stage of a research project. Designed to teach students research methods, procedures and how to search for relevant information resources

  • "Graduation project" is the advanced stage of the research project. Aims to develop students' ability for project research, data collection, data analysis and project demonstration

ESL Courses

The primary focus of this module is to improve students' academic English language proficiency. By establishing a solid foundation of academic English, students will have opportunities for greater success in international standardized tests such as TOEFL, SAT, and so on. Achieving a passing grade on these kinds of tests is a basic admission requirement for studying in Europe and in the United States.


All courses at MSQ follow a full-English, small-size class teaching model.

 

Students who successfully complete the prescribed high school credits will receive a US high school diploma from Menaul School. 


Academic Management

  • Through a variety of "student-centered" Class Design, help students lay a solid knowledge base in a wide range of subject areas and retain their interest in the subject.

    Academic Management Objective No. 1
  • Through the establishment of high-level courses that draw on various subject areas, help students to carry out subject expansion and extension learning, and greatly improve students' academic progress and academic gains in the fields they are good at. The current high-level courses offered by the school can meet the development needs of students in all majors.

  • Focus on developing students' critical thinking skills and creativity, so that students have the ability to cope with the rapidly changing future world.

  • Menaul School follow prosess assessment of students. Each student is equipped with an study advisor. Follow up the student's learning process throughout the process to help students develop independent learning habits.

    Process Management and Follow-up
  • We require all students to speak only English in English-taught classrooms. In classrooms taught in Chinese, only Chinese is spoken. No matter in class or after class, in the restaurant, sports field, club activities or dormitory, students are i mmersed in the full English language environment to improve their language skills.

    Full English Environment
  • Students who successfully complete academic requirements and ensure that the attendance rate is no less than 90% will receive credit. Students who meet the minimum graduation requirement of 24.5 credits will receive the diploma from Menaul School Albuquerque
    Graduation requirements

Qingdao Mengnuo School is one of the few schools in China that is authorized by the American University Council to open AP Capstone courses. The AP Capstone course is a new course certified by the American University Council and supported by all universities in the United States. It is a step forward on the basis of the AP curriculum and strengthens the focus on the cultivation of research capabilities for high school students.

Reading Studio

MSQ Reading Studio is an English literature reading space for students. The school adopts the American leveled reading system and introduces more than 6000 volumes of original English books in multiple categories and series including natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and novels.

Under the guidance of foreign teachers, students can match different levels of English reading materials to meet students' personalized learning needs. After effective reading, students can restore the contents of books through speeches, plays, stories and other forms, so as to improve students' overall ability of listening, reading and writing in English and their comprehensive English quality. English graded reading has become an indispensable part of students' daily life and a lifelong learner and beneficiary.
